all about... ME!

It is important that you choose a celebrant you click with, and who feels like a friend. That's why we will always have an online chat before you book.
I'm not for everyone!

But if you want someone who is a bit extra, has some out-there ideas, and loves creating ceremonies where everyone has a fabulous time...
I might just be the one for you.

In a nutshell

THINGS I LOVE:

Dogs (especially spaniels); houseplants; statement trouser suits; roller skating (badly); yoga; Taylor Swift; finding, IDing wild mushrooms and fungi; bird-spotting; margarita cocktails; gigs & live music (especially indie, rock and punk); my dressing gown; reading; crocheting; 70s aesthetics; the colour orange; weddings; LOVE!

Things I definitely don't love:

The Tory party; mushy peas; Donald Trump; grey trouser suits (registrar style); being cold; boring wedding ceremonies.

Teacher-turned-celebrant

I have a degree in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Sheffield, and for around 10 years I taught English in Secondary schools.

(I know, I know, I need a medal!)

I found myself increasingly disillusioned with the current UK education system - and of course the never-ending marking and planning - so I decided to start a career doing something lovely instead!

I've discovered that SO MANY of my English teaching skills are useful for developing and delivering ceremonies. My knowledge of literature means I can recommend readings or poetry for your occasion if that’s your kind of thing.

I am obviously totally comfortable speaking in front of groups of people: if I can manage a class of 30 unruly teenagers then your wonderful congregation of loving friends and family will be a doddle!

And I also know great techniques for writing, tailoring and structuring the content of your celebration to ensure that you and your guests have a memorable and totally personalised ceremony.

I trained with Humanists UK in 2020, and it is the best decision I've ever made!
